Memento Mori Arts

Beauty That Remembers

The Bone & Bug Art of Loch & Key Witchery is created from the belief that nature does not lose its beauty when life changes form. Bones, wings, petals, and shells are not relics of something ended—they are chapters of a continuing story. Our work honors that story by giving these natural remnants a second life as art meant to comfort, inspire, and awaken wonder.

Every dome, frame, and terrarium is assembled by hand using real flowers, ethically obtained bones, butterflies, beetles, moths, and botanical curios. No two pieces can ever be the same, because no two lives, seasons, or moments in nature are identical.

What We Create

Glass Domes & Terrariums – enchanted forest scenes, ocean dreamscapes, and altar pieces built with moss, crystals, bones, and preserved insects
Framed Natural Art – butterflies, beetles, and florals arranged like tiny, silent poems
Mini Domes & Trinkets – small, affordable pieces so everyone can bring home a bit of wonder
Seasonal & Custom Works – memorial pieces, wedding keepsakes, and personal altar commissions

Our art sits at the crossroads of science cabinet and witch’s shelf—part curiosity, part reverence, part storytelling.

Ethics & Respect

Nothing in our art is created through harm.
All animal and insect materials are ethically obtained through natural passing, licensed suppliers, vintage collections, or lawful salvage, in full accordance with wildlife regulations. Flowers are preserved from local sources whenever possible, and every creature is handled with gratitude for the life it once held.

We do not see these materials as decorations alone. They are teachers of impermanence, resilience, and the strange elegance of the natural world.

The Intention Behind the Work

Bone & Bug Art is meant to help people:

• face death without fear
• see beauty where others look away
• remember loved ones through memorial pieces
• reconnect with the wild intelligence of nature
• create sacred space that feels personal and alive

A beetle’s wing can shine like stained glass.
A small bone can feel as gentle as driftwood.
A pressed flower can hold an entire summer.

Our hope is that each piece invites the viewer to slow down and listen to the quiet language of the earth.

More Than Objects

These works often become:

• altar centerpieces
• conversation pieces in healing spaces
• memorial art for pets and family
• gifts for the witch-hearted and nature-minded
• reminders that life and death are not opposites, but partners

At Loch & Key Witchery, art is another form of medicine—one that heals through curiosity, remembrance, and awe.
